GETTING HERE

By plane

Almeria Airport (LEI) – 50 mins away

Murcia International Airport (RMU) – 1.5 hours away

Alicante- Elche Airport (ALC) – 2.5 hours away

By bus

The most economical way to get here is via local bus from Almeria or Murcia to the local town of Vera and we can arrange a pick-up for €20 each way.

The local bus network is ALSA – www.alsa.com

By taxi

We use a trusted transfer company to bring guests to the finca – please get in touch for prices.

CHECK IN AND OUT

Check-in opens at 2pm however you are welcome to arrive earlier and have lunch (€12).

Check-out is at 11am however you are welcome to check-out of the room and put your luggage in the office if you would like stay for lunch (€12)

PLASTIC

Our ethos is to live in harmony with Mother Nature therefore please refrain from bringing plastic to the retreat. We sell water bottles in the shop and have water fountains at many points around the finca.

RECYCLING

We invite you to use the recycling bins in the kitchen and by the pool bar where possible. All waste from your bedroom will be recycled by our housekeeping team.

WATER

We have a specific water drinking tap in the finca kitchen and pool suite kitchen and we have a number of drinking water fountains around the grounds.

MONEY

Unfortunately at the moment we don’t accept cards at the retreat so please bring cash (EUROS) for anything you buy here such as massages, alcohol and shop purchases.

Everything that is purchased at the retreat is to be paid for at the end of your stay. We will keep account of expenses and you will settle your bill in the office on the last full day of your stay

There are ATM machines in the towns of Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Pueblo. Please ask one of the team for assistance.

UTOPIAN BOUTIQUE

We have charming boutique that sells eco-products (toiletries, suncream, sanitary products), clothing, gifts, jewellery, products from our garden and local artisans.

THE HEALING GARDEN

We are lucky to have a wonderful selection of mindful practitioners who offer an extensive list of therapies and treatments. Please take or wear your robe to your massage appointment to prevent oil damaging your clothes.

FOOD

We grow an abundance of fruit and vegetables on our farm which come directly to your plate. We are predominantly plant-based but serve some locally-caught fish, local cheeses and eggs

Katie, our phenomenal chef will cook three delicious meals per day. If you have any dietary requirements, please don’t hesitate to speak to a manager on duty or Katie herself.

ELECTRICITY

Our electricity sockets are two-pin 230V.

We operate on a solar and wind electricity system which powers the retreat centre. Please charge your devices during the day whilst the sun is shining, rather than in the evening when the power is low.

In the event of a power cut, we have a generator we can use but we prefer to keep this to a very minimum.

OFFICE HOURS

Our office is located on the ground floor of the finca.

We are open from 9am-10am, 1pm-2pm and 4pm-5pm.

– Long sleeves for the evenings (it can get a little chilly in the evenings and mosquitos are prevalent at certain times of year)

ANIMALS

La finca Paradiso is a sanctuary for animals as well as humans!

We have two young friendly dogs called Babu (Mastiff and Spanish Sheepdog cross breed) and Frankie (Podenko). They are walked twice a day by our team so if you would like to join us, please let us know and we’d be delighted for you to do so! Please kindly note that they are being trained at the moment so please refrain from feeding them, especially at the table!

You will see our African Sulcata tortoises Sofia (larger) and Kristo (smaller) roaming freely around the finca. During the summer months they have a peculiar mating behaviour which involves Sofia tipping Kristo onto his back. This can look rather aggressive however please be assured it is perfectly normal. If you see Kristo on his back, you are welcome to correct him!

We also have two cats, Galaxy (tabby and white) and Moonie (tabby) who generally keep themselves to themselves!

TOILETRIES

Please ensure that your washing toiletries are eco-friendly. All of the grey water that runs from the drains is cleaned through a bacterial system and recycled to irrigate the land so the cleaner the water, the better. We sell a selection of toiletries in the Utopian Boutique.

LAUNDRY

We offer a laundry service for €20 per load.

INTERNET

We have wifi available in the main living area of the finca however we invite you to disconnect whilst you are here and take the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in your experience here.

As a painting tutor, what I require from a venue is not only surroundings that will inspire my students, but a tranquil and supportive atmosphere that enables them to concentrate on their creativity and me to get on with my teaching. La Finca Paradiso fulfils those criteria admirably. After 5 years to going to different venues in Italy, France and Spain, and enjoying them, I can honestly say we have found a wonderful venue. The standard of food, guest relations, ambience, welcome and general feel of La Finca Paradiso was second-to-none. As soon as you arrive you start to relax unwind and be at one with the exquisite gardens - lying by the pool listing to the birds, to the relaxing mood music for dinner, the attention to detail was wonderful The outstanding food was superb and all dietary requirements were catered for seamlessly. The accommodation ranged from good-sized shared rooms to a fantastic main suite in the finca. I would sincerely recommend La Finca Paradiso to any instructor looking to take a group on a retreat.

The team made the whole experience wonderful. Katie is a top-class chef and the food is amazing- a riot of flavour and colour. The rooms and gardens are wonderful, the massage was the best I've ever had.
